Ernest Henry Wright was born March 3, 1926, in Coleman County, son of the late David M. and Dovie Harris Wright. Ernest was a very pleasant man and loved to witness to those he encountered. He began his career as a tile setter for Calloways, formerly West Texas Brick and Tile, advanced to ceramic tile manager and concluded it as a factory sales representative with Quamagra Tile in Fort Worth. His gentle ways helped him make many lifelong friends traveling throughout the southeastern part of the United States. Ernest was very active in The Gideons International and Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship. He also served as both deacon and elder at churches in Abilene and Weatherford, where he was a member of North Main Church of God for 25 years. He married his sweetheart, the former Martha Ella Rister, in Albany, on Nov. 24, 1946.
Ernest was preceded in death by his twin sons, Jerry Lynn and Tommy Glenn in 1950; his parents; and six brothers and sisters.
