Jami EvansJami EvansJami Diane Stavens Evans, 48, a gracious and loving mother, daughter, friend and wife, passed away along with her daughter, Mallory Anne on Thursday, October 4, 2012.

Jami received her undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and her master's degree in education from TCU. Jami had been a gentle, loving and respected educator in the Aledo School district for more than 15 years. She spent the last few years homeschooling her youngest children. Jami was very active in her community, church, Bible studies and women's groups.

Jami will be most remembered as the beautiful, loving, caring, compassionate, generous and sincere person she was to everyone who knew her. She had a very loving touch about her, and people knew they could count on her to help them with anything they needed done. She had a special gift of always making people feel welcome in her presence, and Jami made each person feel like he or she was the most important person when they were talking with her. She always made sure everyone around her was taken care of, and she was very considerate of others' needs, especially those of her family, parents and grandparents.

She loved to spend time with her family and close friends. Some of her favorite times were spent with her grandchild, Connor. Connor adored his Molly! She also loved reading; Sunday afternoon family cookouts; frequent family dinner outings at her favorite restaurant, Joe T. Garcia's; and worshiping our Lord through Bible studies and Mass. She will always be known for her famous holiday homemade pies and the color pink. Everyone who met Jami simply loved her.

She was treasured most by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 26 years, Darryl; her children, Emily, Audrey and Jake; her grandson, Connor; parents, Jim, Diane, Larry and Shirley; grandmothers, Ellen and Josephine; brother, Philip and his wife, Michelle; sisters-in-law, Angie and Tracy and their husbands, Mark and Scott; nephews, Parker, Pierce, Triston, Ethan and Evan Griffin; and nieces, Mia and Stellamae. Her grandmother, Josephine Oline Stavens of North Dakota, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Oct. 19; a celebration Jami had planned and was looking forward to attending with her entire family.
