Shirley was born on October 18, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Lucille Dory. On November 10, 1962, she married her childhood sweetheart, Thomas DeCoopman, Sr. who precedes her in death.

Shirley lived her life to the fullest. She approached each day with zest and enthusiasm. She found the most happiness in helping others. Her fun spirit and vitality will be forever missed.

Shirley will be remembered by her very good friend, Michael Mozisek; son, Thomas DeCoopman, Jr.; daughter, Trisha and husband, Darrel Susman; grandchildren, Thomas DeCoopman III, Julian Susman; great-grandchildren, Braden and Landen DeCoopman and many dear relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
