Tuesday, October 5 is National Night Out in Texas and the
City of Hudson Oaks is hosting three neighborhood events in honor of the occasion.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is an event developed by the National Association of Town
Watch. It is designed to: heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate
support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen
neighborhood spirit and police‐community partnerships; and send a message to
criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
This year, in order to encourage citizens to get out to meet their neighbors and learn
more about how citizens can work together to fight crime, the City is hosting three
event sites. The events will be “come and go” from 5 8
p.m. Residents should
bring their own lawn/camping chairs and attend the National Night Out event at the
site nearest their home.
· North of I20:
Meet at the intersection of Gray Wolf and Red Eagle
· Parker Oaks: Meet in the 100 block of Addison
· Diamond Oaks: Meet at 212 S. Lakeshore Drive
There will be public safety and administrative staff from the City at all three
locations to meet with residents and answer any questions they have about City
services. The City will also provide hot dogs, chips, drinks and cookies for
participants at each location. The primary focus of the event will be on increasing
citizens’ knowledge and awareness of techniques for deterring and preventing
crime in residential neighborhoods. The Hudson Oaks police department will have
officers visiting each location to showcase departmental vehicles and equipment.
Anyone with questions about the City’s National Night Out events should contact the
Hudson Oaks Police Department at 682‐229‐2424.
