Shooting at UT-Austin

September 28, 2010 by Dominic Genetti

UT-AustinUT-AustinThe lockdown has been lifted at the University of Texas at Austin.

In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Robert Dahlsbom, campus police chief, said that authorities believe the shooter that entered the campus library this morning and opened fired before turning the gun on himself is believed to be a student. He said that there were reports of minor injuries, but were not related to the gun shots. Dahlsbom said the injuries came from students running to safety.

The alleged student-shooter was reportedly dressed in a suit and ski mask when they shot rounds from an AK-47 in the library. Authorities were looking for a possible second suspect, but said at the press conference that search is no longer going on.

Aledo High School has at least three 2010 graduates currently enrolled at the school; Will Cole, Jared Young and Audrey Rutherford.
