September is Emergency Preparedness Month, and Parker County Emergency Management Community Liaison Kit Marshall wants to make sure all residents know what to do in the case of an emergency.
To help prepare, Parker County Emergency Management is offering another free training opportunity for people who want to be able to assist in their community if a major disaster such as a tornado, flood or wildfire was to occur.
“The CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training is a 24 hour course that teaches emergency preparedness and basic disaster response techniques that will prepare volunteers to take an active role in providing critical support to the professional first responders during emergencies,” Marshall said.
A new class will meet on Mondays from 7-9 p.m. beginning Sept. 27. Classes will be at the Hudson Oaks Police Training Room, 150 N. Oakridge Dr., just north of the Hudson Oaks’ Walgreens. Class size is limited, so call 817-598-0969 or e-mail your reservation with your contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
