East Parker County Women’s Business Alliance will host a Healthcare Education Panel of five professional women who have been in the medical field guiding families through tough decisions concerning the healthcare of their loved ones.
The panel will present several medical scenarios followed by informative suggestions on resources and procedures for a plan of action. The topics will range from in home healthcare and rehab to long term care and hospice.
Statistics show there are over 65 million caregivers in the United States, about 72% of those caregivers are women with an average age of 48 and active in the workforce. With the boomer generation living longer and needing caregivers, are you prepared for the daunting responsibility and complex tasks needed to provide the appropriate care for loved ones?
The panel will include Shirley Smelley with IntegraCare Hospice; Tatum Smith, IntegraCare Home Health; Tami Fitzgerald, College Park Rehabilitation & Care Center; Lynda Keeton, Home Instead Senior Care; and Lori Sulak with Martin Crest Assisted Living.
Caregiving touches almost every family; the panel will offer the tools needed to navigate the transition process for a loved one’s care. The panel will offer tips on the support and services that are available in Parker County for these unexpected life changing medical events.
Each presenter will have a table set up with information and a time to speak one on one.
Healthcare Education Panel including lunch will be held Friday, May 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tucker Red’s Banquet Hall, 4971 E I-20 Service Road North.
