Aledo junior guard Logan Mittie scored a game-high 30 points and freshman guard Mallory Powell added 11 to lead the Ladycats to a 68-46 victory over Mineral Wells Tuesday night in District 6-4A action at the Aledo High School gym.
The win raises the Ladycats' mark to 7-1 in district play. Aledo remains in a three-way tie for first place with Saginaw and Springtown.
The Ladycats will continue district play at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 at Birdville.
Also scoring for the Ladycats were sophomore wing Caileen Tallant with nine points, Gough and sophomore guard Alanna Martin, each with seven, and sophomore guard Haley Loftin and junior guard Shelby Stockard, each with two.
Mineral Wells 57, Bearcats 50 OT
The Bearcats dropped to 1-5 in District 6-4A after a 57-50 overtime loss to Mineral Wells Tuesday night at the AHS gym.
With the game tied at 46-46, the Bearcats' last-second shot was partially blocked as the Rams forced overtime.
Mineral Wells outscored the Bearcats 11-4 in the extra session to take the win.
Senior guard Shane Smith led the Bearcats with 14 points. Also scoring for AHS were Matt Barron with nine points, Dillon Hawkins and Danny Huerta, each with seven, Robbie Spreier with six, Danny Glass with four and Blake Reynolds with three.
The Bearcats will continue 6-4A play at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 at Birdville.
