Cooking well with Diabetes classes

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Parker County will a Cooking Well with Diabetes II class from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 1, 15 and 22, at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center located at 604 North Main Street in Weatherford.
Cooking Well with Diabetes II will cover the following lessons: Carbohydrate Foods, Desserts, Making Recipes with Fat Better for You, Cutting the Fat - Main Dishes, Double Your Pleasure Side Dishes, Reducing Sodium and Increasing Fiber, Celebrating Sensibly with Diabetes, and Holiday Meal Preparation with Diabetes. The workshop will include cooking demonstrations and activities. All participants who complete Cooking Well with Diabetes will get a booklet filled with recipes that are diabetes friendly.
There will be a $20 charge for the session that will cover the cost of food supplies. Space is limited and pre-registration ends Sept. 27.
