In an official signing ceremony May 31, Weatherford College president and the provost of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville formalized an agreement between the two institutions making it easier for WC students to transfer to SHSU.
Agreement features include online articulation, joint admission, reverse transfer for the associate degree, and joint advising (including the ability of Weatherford advisers to access Weatherford transfer transcripts and degree plans directly off the SHSU system via the Web).
"Weatherford College student transfers are among our best students," said Payne. "They perform as well or better than our 'native' students in some cases, and we are always happy to have more good students." About 300 WC students are currently enrolled at SHSU.
Dr. David Burris, SHSU articulation coordinator, said formal agreements such as this one have many benefits. ..
