Over the last week, several local business in Weatherford have fallen victim to cigarette burglars. Since Aug. 19, four local convenience stores have been burglarized in the early morning hours by what Weatherford PD detectives believe to be the same group of individuals. The group makes forced entry into the stores by shattering the front glass doors and taking large amounts of cigarettes. In most of the cases, officers have been dispatched to the locations because of burglar alarms.
“We believe this is an experienced group of burglars,” said Detective Karl Westendorf, “Their methods are quick and focused – they force their way in, take the cigarettes and are gone in less than a couple of minutes.”
It is hard to obtain descriptions of the suspects due to the fact their faces are concealed with clothing or masks. Attached are several still photographs of the suspects taken while they burglarized the stores. The following locations have been victims in this string of burglaries:
Tobacco City 1900blk S Main St (Aug 19th)
Git-n-Go 1100blk Palo Pinto St (Aug 19th)
Food Mart 1400blk S Main St (Aug 25th)
Clear Lake Shell 2100 Clear Lake Dr (Aug 25th)
