Robert Parten of Elections Administration will speak Thursday, April 11, at The Doss Heritage and Culture Center on Texas Street as part of the Parker County Republican Women's monthly meeting.
Parten will speak on the Voting Rights Act and how it will affect Parker County if it is invalidated or limited, how to protect the integrity of absentee balloting, and other issues facing valid elections in the United States.
Parten has been with Parker County since January 2008. Prior to coming to Parker County, Parten worked in Tarrant County and has 45 years of elections experience. Parten is a certified C.E.R.A. (Certified Election Registration Administrator), and was the first in the United States to receive this certification. He has assisted the U.S. State Department with the conduct of democratic elections in Bosnia, Croatia, Albania and the Republic of Srpska.
