Water line repair work starts house fire

A repair task to a broken waterline was said to be the cause of a house fire in the 4000 block of Arroyo Dr., just off Mikus Road, Monday afternoon. Bob James said he was soldering a broken waterline when the flame from the task went up the back wall of the home. Because the water was turned off to repair the line, the homeowner was not able to extinguish the flame. Firefighting units from Weatherford, Hudson Oaks, and Willow Park responded to quickly extinguish the fire which was mostly contained to the attic. Many residents are dealing with broken water lines due to the recent bout of below-freezing temperatures.
