2009 Aledo football banquet set for Saturday, Jan. 16

The Aledo Bearcats Booster Club is pleased to announce that planned festivities for Championship Weekend in Aledo have now been finalized.

One day after the previously-announced championship parade, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 15, the annual Aledo Football Banquet and Auction has been scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at the Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be legendary radio personality Hal Jay of NewsTalk 820 WBAP.

Tickets - priced $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under - go on sale beginning today in the AISD Administration Building.

A silent auction will be held and will feature the following exciting offerings:

* Courtesy of Whitestone Golf Club, a golf package for four;
* From Grady's Restaurant, dinner for four and two autographed cookbooks;
* From Haven's Spa, a luxurious spa package valued at $350;
* An Aledo Bearcat football helmet, autographed by the 2009 State Champion Bearcat;s
* An Aledo Bearcat football. also autographed by the state-champion Bearcats;
* Courtesy of Jamie Adams, a baseball autographed by Texas legend and Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan and four tickets to a 2010 Texas Rangers baseball game;
* Box seats for six at the 2010 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

One live auction item will be offered, a state championship poster autographed by the 2009 State Champion Bearcats.

Seating is limited to this special night honoring Aledo's first Class AAAA state football championship team.
