Ladycats begin grueling first-week workout schedule with mile run

The 2010 Aledo Ladycats volleyball team will begin August two-a-day workouts on Monday, Aug. 2 with the "Going's Mile" run at 7:30 a.m. at Bearcat Stadium.

Each Ladycat is required to run a mile in eight minutes or less or she will not be able to practice. Last season, every varsity Ladycat ran the mile in less than eight minutes.

The Ladycats will have twice-daily workouts Monday through Thursday, Aug. 2-5, before traveling to Stephenville for a scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 6.

The Ladycats will scrimmage at home on Saturday, Aug. 7, against Weatherford and Wichita Falls Rider. Matches begin at 10 a.m.

Aledo's season opener is Monday, Aug. 9, at Waco Midway in a dual match with Midway and Granbury.
