George was born in 1936 to Lee Hogan and Sarah Casey in Eastland, Texas.

He retired from Bell Helicopter in 1983. George was a devoted husband and father that loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his nieces and nephews. He was a principled man of integrity who loved life and family. George enjoyed spending time with his childhood sweetheart and loving wife, Margie Walton Hogan. He was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include his wife, Margie; son, Rod Hogan and wife, Pam, of Aledo; granddaughters, Kandi Baker and husband, Jim, and Rachel Coleman and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Seth and Selah Baker and Urijah Coleman; brother, Roy Hogan and friend, Sarah Brunson; brothers-in-law, Charles Walton and wife, Georgia Ann, Clifton Walton, Weldon Walton and Johnny Walton and wife, Ramona; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
