Gayla Jean Snyder Phillips
Gayla was born Gayla Jean Snyder to Ralph and Louise Snyder of Walters, Oklahoma, on March 12, 1957, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She grew up and graduated high school in Walters, Oklahoma. She later attended Fort Cobb Vo-tech in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, where she received her LPN (LVN in Texas) certification.
Gayla was the epitome of the saying "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could." She truly loved Texas, especially Springtown, and always swore she would never leave. Gayla worked many jobs in her life. However, her true calling was taking care of children, especially those who truly needed her care. Gayla was able to combine her love of children, her passion for helping those who needed help, and her extraordinary nursing skills to build a successful career while helping the many children who needed her help with whom she came in contact. She will be loved and greatly missed by all of those mentioned above and countless others. God bless and accept your eternal servant Gayla.
Gayla is preceded in death by many family members, including her parents and her brother, Larry Snyder.
Gayla is survived by many family members and friends who loved her dearly. These include her first love and lifelong friend, Rick Phillips, of Springtown; her daughter, Anna Pallett Jorgensen and husband, Dane, of Springtown; son Cory Phillips and wife, Kelly, of Springtown; daughters, Jennifer Murphy, Christina, Sarah, and Rebekka Smith; and sons, Isaac Smith and C.J.
