Elizabeth was born on September 22, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Gertrude Richards Bird and Captain Lee Garrison Bird and had one sister Adrienne Bird Jamieson. Her father’s Navy service took the family to Chicago, San Diego, and Philadelphia. She attended the University of Tulsa, graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority during her time there.
Following graduation, she began her teaching career, a Kindergarten teacher first in Michigan and then in Southern California. She met her future husband Clifford Bundy, a Chemical engineer, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church singles group in Redondo Beach, California. The couple raised one daughter.
The next years were filled with civic and neighborhood activities, including PTA, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of Newport Beach, California, KKG Alumni House board for UCI, and the Mesa Verde Library along with yearly vacations to Kauai and Maui with her husband and daughter.
She purchased an interest in a London timeshare with her sister in 1991 and began making annual trips to the UK over the next 20 years.
Elizabeth will be remembered as a mother, teacher, and friend. She was a model of compassion and devotion to her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Clifford Bundy.
Survivors include her daughter Lynelle; nieces Adrienne Jamieson White, husband Steve, and their son Erichson, and Brooke Jamieson White, husband Doug, and their son Clarke.
