Love is in the air this month with a lot of free Valentine’s-related activities for the kids.

Home Depot Kids workshop
9 a.m.-12N, Saturday, Feb. 4

Designed for kids ages 5-12, the workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.

Drawing from the Collection
Modern Art Museum
2-3:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5

This exciting gallery program for children between the ages of five and 12 is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the collection.

Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils or purchase materials in The Modern Shop.

Attendance is limited. A sign-up sheet is located at the front desk; early arrival is encouraged. www.themodern.org/children

Wonderful Wednesdays
Modern Art Museum
4-4:45 p.m., Wednesday Feb. 8 & 15

This program for families with young children is led by a docent and includes a gallery project designed by the education department.

Both the tour and project focus on a few works in the Modern's collection.

Registration is not required, but a sign-up sheet is provided at the front desk the day of the program. Attendance is limited; admission is free. www.themodern.org/children

Kimball Art Museum
10:30 a.m.-11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7

Designed for children ages four to six, this program features a reading of the storybook “Hey Pipsqueak!” by Kate McMullan and Jim McMullan, followed by an engaging docent-led tour and related art activity.

“Pictures and Pages” encourages children to use their imaginations, contribute to group conversations, and participate in simple art activities. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and is designed to inspire creativity and provide children with an early exposure to works of art.

Advance registration for this free program is required, and space is limited. Maximum two children per adult. To register, please 817-332-8451, ext. 351.

My Funny Valentine
Hulen Mall Kids’ Club
11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 9

There will be singing, dancing and a fun make-and-take craft. It’s FREE and reservations are not required, but adults are asked to sign up little ones at the event. Parents/caregivers are required to stay with children.

Reservations are not needed. Adults who are bringing five or more children are asked to call Fara Reid at (817) 294-1205 x7021 so that club organizers will have a giveaway for every participant.

Activities are designed for children ages two to six, but all ages are welcome. Kids Club meets on the lower level in Center Court near the Play Area and lasts 30-45 minutes.
