Mark was born in Modesto, CA in 1923. He was 88 years old and diagnosed with stage IV cancer last August.Mark and his wife, Mary, resided outside of Azle, Texas in the beautiful home he built in 1989.
He served our country during WW II in the Merchant Marines. Mark then built several houses in Stockton, CA.. Later, he worked for FHA and was transferred to Ft. Worth in the early 1960s and built 2 homes on Eagle Mt. Lake. As a GS-13, he was an architetural advisor and inspector in Multi-Family Housing for 8 states until he bought Twin Points Resort in 1967.
Mark developed Twin Points with his son-in-law, Bobby Hobbs and daughter, Darlia for 10 years. In 1977, he sold the recreation park to Darlia and Bobby and moved to Mission, TX where he developed several subdivisions, condos, and apartments. At age 82, Mark built and sold 2 ‘spec’ homes in Azle. One of his mottoes was “Make it good for both sides and you’ve got a winner”. In his leisure time, Mark enjoyed fishing and boating with his family, planning and building, and playing blackjack.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters, Lovell Flick, Violet Daniels, and Floriene Strevor; and son, Mark Wade Andrews; and daughter, Genny McDaniel.
Survivors: Mark is survived by his loving wife, Mary S. Andrews, sister, Nellie Cabral of CA and daughter, Marla Willette and husband, John both of CA, daughters, Darlia Hobbs and her husband, Bobby of Eagle Mt Lake, Dale Fitch and her husband, Allen of Azle, Rose Sandoval of FL, Blanca Ramirez and family of MD, Candy Ferarro of Qietman, Dana Curry and husband, Danny of Ft. Worth and son, Walter Sitarek and family of MD.. Other family members include 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
