The scholarship may be awarded to qualified Parker County residents who aspire to further their post-secondary education, who can demonstrate leadership and academic promise and who possess a commitment to advance the status of women. Scholarship awards may vary based on need. Recipients must provide verification of college or university enrollment prior to the award, and must be enrolled in a minimum of six semester hours to be eligible to receive scholarship funds.
Zonta Club of Parker County has awarded more than $35,000 in scholarships to 42 students in the last three years. Its major fundraiser is the annual Casino Night, scheduled this year on March 23 at the Wild Mushroom Steakhouse in Weatherford. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this event, and club members also are accepting silent and live auction items. Call Angie Martin at 817-598-5422 for more information about Zonta Casino Night.
