Florene was born in La Coste, Texas to Philip and Elma Jungman. She married her beloved childhood sweetheart, Cameron Lee King, on August 23, 1952 and they were married for 50 years before his passing on June 3, 2003. Florene moved to Corpus Christi about 2 years ago from Azle. Over the years the family lived in San Antonio, Victoria, Dallas and Odem- all in Texas and a year in Anchorage, Alaska. She considered Azle to be her "home" where she was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was employed in the auto industry for 40 years with her longest tenure with McKenzie VW in Corpus Christi. Florene is preceded in rising to God's Glory by her husband, Cameron; daughter, Kathi Kay (King) Embry, who passed away June 4, 2006; her infant son, Douglas Wayne King; her parents, Philip and Elma Jungman; her sisters, Bernice Evans and Elaine Trammell.

Surviving children, Vicki (Steve) Synovitz of New Orleans, LA., Cindi (Glen) Boyd of Odem, Bryan King of Rowena, S.D., Kevin King of Richmond, TX and son-in-law, Jimmy Embry, husband of Kathi of Azle; she is the much loved grandmother of Andrea, Micah, (Erica), Travis (Amanda), Lucas (Valerie), Tucker (Andrea), Shannon, Shawn, Jeremiah, Jayden, Megan and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Joseph, Nicholas, Maddox, Miah, Mara, Vicktoria and Kierra; also one sister, Velma Rose (Jungman) Wernette (Leroy) of Waco; she has numerous and extended loving family and friends whose lives she has touched and will be greatly missed by all.
