Familiar foes meet again in the playoffs for the third straight year.
Twenty minutes before kick off, and The Aledo side of Midlothian Stadium is nearly full in a light rain. The rain may be a factor as it will be heavy at times, according to the forecast.
Having won the coin toss, Aledo will receive to get things underway.
A pass from Matt Bishop to Pate Davis for 5 yards gets the drive started off well.
On the next play Johnathan Gray goes right then back left, utilizing excellent down field blocks from Willie Gibson and others to cover 75 yards and get Aledo on the Scoreboard. PAT is good and it's Bearcats 7 Yellowjackets 0 with less than a minute gone in the game.
The Bearcat defense holds and they will get the ball back on their own 35 yard line after a nice return by Devan Watts. On a 4th down play Aledo brings in a short yardage package and Johnathan carries for a first down.
The next Aledo 1st down comes on a pass play from Matt Bishop to Pate Davis to the Yellowjacket 10 yard line. A penalty backs Aledo up and brings up a 3rd and goal from the Stephenville 7 yard line.
Stephenville intercepts a Matt Bishop pass in their own end zone and will set up at their 20 with just over 3 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. The Bearcat's defense holds the Jackets to a single 1st down and they will work from their own 43 yard line after forcing a punt.
Unable to move the ball, Aledo quick kicks from a passing formation and Stephenville will start from their own 10 yard line.
A nice defensive play from James Place and Jared Hinsley to stop a Stephenville short yardage package will get The Bearcats another possession, and they quickly take advantage.
A pass play, Matt Bishop to Caleb Frysinger, covers 72 yards and Aledo is now up by a Score of 14-0 with 10 minutes left in the half.
After a single 1st down on a 24 yard run by Johnathan Gray from their own 23 yard line, Aledo will punt from their own 44 after a procedure penalty.
A short punt gives the Jackets the ball at their 46. They are again forced to punt after 3 plays.
A pass to Michael Mann from Matt Bishop comes up about a yard short on third down and Aledo has to kick the ball back to the Yellowjackets. A beautiful punt gives Stephenville the ball on their 18.
The Bearcats hold and will get the ball again on a punt.
They drive the length of the field with the big play a sideline catch by Michael Mann from Matt Bishop. Bishop then shows his running skills, covering the last 5 yards on a keeper around the left side. 21-0 Bearcats.
Stephenville uses the sidelines and their timeouts to try to get into field goal range, but the clock will run out with Aledo up 21-0
The Stephenville Yellowjackets will get the ball to start the 3rd quarter.
Aledo's Jared Hinsley makes a beautiful open field tackle on the kickoff return and the Jackets set up shop at their own 10 yard line. Two 1st downs, on two nice pass plays, move the ball out to the Stephenville 42 yard line. A holding penalty moves them back to the 32. A nice run on a broken play by Tyler Jones, the Stephenville quarterback, is wasted due to a snap over his head on the next play.
They punt and Aledo will work from the Jackets 39 yard line. A Matt Bishop to Michael Mann pass gets the Bearcats down to the Stephenville 12 yard line. Chance Nevarez kicks a field goal on a fourth and 3 from the 4 yard line and now the Aledo Bearcats have a 24-0 lead with 6:00 left in the 3rd quarter.
Stephenville has moved the ball well on their next series and they are now trying to pick up the pace a little bit. James Place and Jordan Mittie have big plays as the Jackets are forced to punt.
A fumble recovery on the punt gives them the ball at the Bearcat 29 yard line with a first down and just over 4 minutes in the 3rd.
Jaylen Hill recovers a Yellowjacket fumble and returns it all the way to the Stephenville 33 yard line with 3:40 remaining. Unsportsmanlike Conduct called on Johnathan Gray keeps 6 points from going up on board, but Caleb Frysinger scores his second touchdown, less than a minute later, on a run from the Jackets 1 yard line. Aledo leads 31-0 after the PAT. Johnathan Gray is ejected from the game as a result of the penalty. It was his second.
The Bearcat defense holds and gets the ball again. They are unable to move the ball and are forced to punt. Stephenville will go to work from their 20 yard line as the rain gets heavier and the 3rd quarter comes to an end.
Even in this rain, the Aledo fans are two or 3 deep around the railing that surrounds the visitors side of the Stadium in Midlothian. Bearcat fans should be proud of how they have come out to support their football team.
Aledo's defense holds and scores 2 points on a touchback to make it 33-0.
The Bearcats then get excellent field position on a nice return by Jonny Carter to the Jacket's 31 yard line.
Stephenville recovers a Bearcat fumble and will take over from their 19 yard line. They are unable to pick up a 1st down and Aledo takes over at their 48 yard line after the punt.
Caleb Frysinger and Matt Bishop alternate runs and Caleb breaks one all the way to the Jackets 2 yard line.
The Stephenville defense shuts the drive down at that point and a Chance Nevarez field goal goes wrong when the snap is fumbled.

The clock continues to run at under 3 minutes as the rain blows through Midlothian Stadium. The Jackets have moved the ball to the Aledo 42 yard line but Aledo holds on a 4th down and will take over on downs from there.
The Bearcats run out the clock. The final score will be Aledo 33 and Stephenville 0.
Aledo will meet Corsicana next week at Mesquite Memorial Stadium.
