Weatherford Police Department Newsblotter, September 27, 2011

September 28, 2011 by Anonymous

C.Rivas 68- On this 27th day of September 2011, at approximately 0747 hrs, I was dispatched to meet with a complainant in reference to theft. I met with the complainant, Everado Medrano (w/m 37yoa), at his residence (243 Allen St.), who advised that unknown person(s) unlawfully took his property ($1500.00 in tools) with out his consent. A theft report was taken.

On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at 1042hrs, I, Ofc S. Chalmers 61, was dispatched to 801 S Elm St in Weatherford, Texas, in reference to an act of criminal mischief. When I arrived on scene, I made contact with Pax Cheng (80yoa AM). Cheng advised that sometime between 1200hrs on Friday, September 23, 2011, and 0800hrs on Monday, September 26, 2011, unknown suspect(s) shot a BB gun at the first window south of the back door on the east side of his rental property located at 801 S Elm St in Weatherford, Texas. Damage to the property was estimated at $370.00. A report was taken for Class BM Criminal Mischief $50 < $500. There is no suspect information at this time.

09-27-2011 T. Trevino # 71 - On 09-27-2011 at approx 1152 hrs. I was dispatched to meet a complainant in reference to a theft. I met with the complainant, Arturo Vidales (w/m 44 yoa), who advised that unknown person(s) had taken diesel fuel from some construction equipment while it was parked. The complainant does wish to file charges against the person(s) responsible as they appropriated the property of another with the intent to deprive the owner of the property and without the owner's effective consent. A theft report was taken.

On Tuesday 09-27-2011 at approxiamtely 1754 hours I, reporting officer (Tippie #42), was dispatched to 1110 Ft. Worth Hwy to assist day shift officers with a domestic violence call. Upon arriving on scene I made contact with the suspect, Jason Tyrone Lee, and the victim. It was determined during the investigation that Lee had physically assaulted the white female victim. Officers observed visible injuries to the victim and she admitted that the assault caused her pain. Lee was taken into custody for Assault - Bodily Injury (Family Violence.) A report was created for the incident.

On Wednesday 09-28-2011 at approximately 0026 hours I reporting officer (Tippie #42) conducted a traffic stop with a black 2009 Mercury Milan for failing to signal a turn from Foster St. to Eureka St. I made contact with the driver, a white male, and due to a tip given by an off duty officer about this vehicle, I decided to conduct an investigation with the back passenger in the vehicle to see if he was indeed the wanted subject advised by the officer. I identified the subject as Michael James Smith (w/m 20yoa). Smith originally gave me a different name and when we attempted to take him into custody for Fail to Identify, he fled on foot. Ofc. Watson, Cpl. Goff and I pursued Smith and took him into custody. A brief struggle ensued while handcuffing Smith and as a result, one of the officers involved sustained minor injuries to his nose. He was treated at Weatherford Regional Medical Center and released. It was determined that Smith had outstanding warrants from two different agencies. He was arrested for those warrants and was transported to the Parker Co. Jail where he was also was charged with Fail to I.D. Fugitive and Evading Arrest.
