On Friday, 08/26/2011, Reporting Officer C. Rivas #68 was radio dispatched to a major accident in the 2000 block of Bethel Rd. On arrival, I investigated an accident scene involving two vehicles, where one vehicle ran a stop sign and struck the other vehicle. I made contact with the at fault driver who appeared to be under the influence of a substance other than alcohol. The subject was transported to the hospital, therefore not arrested at this time.
On 08/26/11 Cpl. Wright was dispatched to WPD to meet a complainant in reference to a possible scam. Cpl. Wright met with the victim Joe Henderson who advised that he was the victim of an email scam involving a fake company. Henderson advised that he cashed a check the company sent him at his local bank and later found that it was not a legitimate check. He was eventually at loss $2650.00. A report for forgery was completed.
On 8-26-11 at approximately 1550 hours I, Officer D.L. Morton # 72, received a hit and run call in the 1000 block of N. Main St. Upon arrival in the area at approximately 1600 hours I met the complainant, Laney Layne, who advised that at approximately 1545 hours this date while she was traveling south bound in the 1100 block of N. Main st. an unknown person or persons traveling north bound in the 1100 block of N. Main St. threw an unknown object from a white extended cab pick up that struck and damaged the windshield of her VW ESK. A report was made.
Warrant arrest. On this date, at about 1600 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Main, in a wooded area west of McGraton Park in reference to a suspicious person. The subject was located on private property and identified as San Martin Segura W/M 45 years of age. A routine check showed him to have outstanding warrants from Parker County for Theft by Check $20-500 and a Motion to Revoke Driving While License Invalid. These warrants were confirmed and he was arrested, transported to PCSO and booked per procedure.
On Friday, 08-26-2011 at approximately 2036 hours, I, Officer Matt B. Windham #67 was dispatched to the area of 300 Front Street, in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Dispatch was able to keep the witness on the telephone and give the whereabouts of both vehicles. I made contact with the suspect vehicle, which was observed committing a traffic violation. I made a traffic stop with the vehicle at the 1400 N. Rusk St. Once I made contact with the driver, who was identified as Karie L. Moore, it was found that she under the influence of an intoxicating substance. Ms. Moore was observed operating a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated and was placed under arrest. An offense report was created for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd.
On 08-26-2011 at 2041 hrs I, (T.Wainscott # 79) Officer with the Weatherford Police Department, was dispatched to a theft call at 200 E.Seventh St. Upon arrival I meet with the complainant Richard Swank, (w/m 52yoa). Swank advised that his 7 week old white female Lab puppy valued at $400.00 dollars had been taken from his front yard around 16:30 hrs. Swank said that he had not given anyone permission to take the puppy from his front yard. No further information at this time.
On 8-27-2011 I (B Pool #69) and other officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Santa Fe in reference to a subject firing a rifle inside a residence. I made contact with the victim (Katilyn Tyler Henley) in the 800 block of Santa Fe. Henley advised her ex-boyfriend (Michael James Bowens W/M 22 years of age) pointed a rifle at her and himself and when she pushed it away he fired a round off. Bowens was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.
On August 27, 2011 at 0306 hours RM Manning 3282 was dispatched to 102 West Park in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival at 0308 hours I discovered the front door of the business had been broken out. Upon entering the building I observed the ATM machine was open and the cash drawer empty. I also observed several items laying in the floor that appeared to have been knocked over. No persons were observed near the building. The owner, Bhuwan, Acharya (w/m 44yoa) related that no person(s) had permission to enter the buisness and remove property.
On Saturday 08/27/2011 at approximately 0300 the Weatherford Police Department received a burglary alarm at 1405 S. Main Weatherford, Texas. Officers responded to the scene and observed a front door glass to be broken. Rept. Off. Slimp arrived at the location at 03:18 and observed the ATM machine inside the business appeared to have been damaged and entry made. The owner of the business, Acharya, Domin A/F 39 was contacted and arrived on scene. Acharya advised that unknown person(s) had broken the window of the front door and made entry into the building. The suspect(s) then broke open the ATM machine and removed an undetermine amount of cash from that location without the owners consent. Crime scene officers were called to the scene. No other information.
