On Thursday, 08/04/2011, Weatherford Police officers were dispatched to the 2000blk of Mason Pond in regards to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who reported that he had left his residence at approximately 7:30am that morning and returned the same day at 5:30pm to find his house had been burglarized. Officers observed that the unknown suspect(s) had made forced entry into the home through the front door.
The complainant went on further to say that the suspects stole two jewelry boxes that contained a significant amount of jewelry valued at several thousands of dollars. The jewelry boxes are described as one being a small replica of a pirate’s chest and the other as a cherry wood, 3 ½ foot tall with drawer jewelry box. Some unique pieces that were included in the stolen jewelry was a Lamar University College ring with BS 1971 on the side and the initials “RAC” engraved on the inside, a gold high school ring with a red stone, a lion’s head on the side and “PKO” engraved on the inside, a Tanzanite and diamond tear drop necklace and a royal blue jewelry travel bag with the initials “PC” on the front.
