The Weatherford College Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) approved Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program begins later this month. Upon successful completion of the program, students qualify as a TDLR “Certified Technician.”
Classes begin August 30 with a 21-month evening class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, meeting 6-9:30 p.m., and an eight-month fast-track day program that meets Monday through Friday , 1-5:00 p.m.
“Our program offers classroom theory combined with hands-on for the students to gain skills for employment in the field,” said Athena Russell, Workforce and Continuing Education coordinator. “Also this year, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America recognized the College as an approved testing center for the EPA Recovery Certification exam and the HVAC instructors as qualified proctors. This certification is required by Federal law to work in the industry.”
Instructors for the program are Jose Jaramillo and John Manley, both licensed professionals in the HVAC field.
“Jaramillo and Manley were instrumental in helping to attain approval for providing the EPA exam and gaining endorsement from TDLR. Combined they bring thirty plus years of experience to the program,” Russell said.
