David was born October 3, 1956 in Azle. He was the son of the late J.D. Winston and Lometa (Clark) McCurry. David grew up in Amarillo and finished school at Tascosa High School. He always had strong ties in Weatherford since his parents were from this area and his grandparents lived in the area.
