Raymond David McCurryRaymond David McCurry

David was born October 3, 1956 in Azle. He was the son of the late J.D. Winston and Lometa (Clark) McCurry. David grew up in Amarillo and finished school at Tascosa High School. He always had strong ties in Weatherford since his parents were from this area and his grandparents lived in the area. A while after graduating from high school, he moved to Weatherford, lived with family, and attended Weatherford College. At age 19 he was employed by Jamak Fabrication of Weatherford where he continued working for 33+ years. He was actively involved in Destination Imagination for 4 years where he was recognized as a superior role model in the areas of spirit, sportsmanship, and volunteerism. David considered Jamak his second home and the employees his extended family. His friend, Allen Davis of Jamak and his brother Jay McCurry stayed with David until the conclusion of his life.

David was a child of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D.Winston and Lometa McCurry, sister Sherry Diane McCurry, grandparents James David and Susie Penrod McCurry and his maternal grandparents Raymond Warren and Irene (Jones) Clark.

He is survived by his brother, Jay Wendell McCurry and wife Veronica of Tolar; nieces, Rachael Rodarte of Amarillo, Krisha McCurry of Houston, Jessi McCurry of Tolar, and nephew Justin Freeman of Tolar; Uncle Ralph and Aunt Jane Clark of Meridian; special friends the Davis family, and the Smith family both of Weatherford; and other numerous close friends.
