Frances EvansAlma Frances Greenfield – Evans, age 90, died Monday, July 18, 2011 in a Weatherford nursing center.
Ms. Greenfield – Evans was born October 14, 1920 in Aledo, and was a resident there until moving to Weatherford, where she resided until her death.
Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aledo for 70-plus years, and during those years served as Sunday School Secretary, Librarian, Greeter, and the Designated Hugger for all, and she was a member of the “Joy Strummers.”
She retired from General Dynamics where she worked as a staff secretary for 41 years until her retirement in 1985. Frances was a member of the Pythian Sisters for 47 years and served as a former State Secretary for this organization. After retirement Frances centered her life around helping the residents of her community. She volunteered for over twenty-seven years with “Meals on Wheels” as well as the East Parker County Center of Hope. Frances is truly loved by all her family and friends and she will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ida Greenfield and brother, J.T. Greenfield, Jr.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Louise Greenfield- Jackson and husband Henry of Weatherford, and Betty Greenfield-Schulze of Fort Worth; nieces Mrs. Carolyn Ann Greenfield-Bevins and husband Danny of Austin, and Mrs. Suzanne Schulze-Lain and husband Randal of Pittsburg, Texas; nephews, Frank E. Schulze of Wichita Falls and Alfred W. Schulze of Granbury; great niece Allison Schulze of Wichita Falls and great nephew, Cody Erwin of Denton.
Funeral service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Aledo with interment in Brown Cemetery.
