Mark your calendar for Aledo’s First Friday event on July 1st and August 5th in Aledo’s Downtown Business District! Various Downtown merchants as well as North and South Aledo businesses will be open until 9:30 PM.
The Concerts will be set up on Elm Street on the east side of Aledo First Baptist Church in the Downtown District.
Singer, Katy Keenie, will perform at 7 PM on Friday, July 1, 2011. Ms. Keenie states, “I learned what working hard for so many years can get you,” she says of the drive that would later jump-start her musical dreams. Katy turned to artists like Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack and Alison Krauss for inspiration. Ms. Keenie will include a variety of patriotic songs in honor of Independence Day. Katy’s trio includes herself, an amazing lead guitar player and percussion drums to bring out the dancer in everyone!
An awesome fireworks show is scheduled to begin at dark to conclude the evening's events.
Looking to round out the summer on August 5, the Clear Fork Jazz Band will begin at 7 PM.
Restaurants including the Aledo Diner, Jorges Mexican Restaurant, The Bake Shoppe, Subway, Joe’s Pizza and Pasta, Sonic, and Aledo Tacqueria will be open until 9:30. Follow dinner with fabulous ice cream at Scoop Me on Old Annetta Rd next to the Aledo Community Center. Food booths will also be set up in the concert area.
