The Aledo 2008 Bronco All-Star 12-13-year-old team defeated the Richland Youth Organization Red Hawks, 17-8, on July 20 in Rowlett to secure the West Region championship and a berth at the South Zone tournament that begins Tuesday, July 29, in Tampa.

Aledo can advance to the P.O.N.Y. national tournament in California, which begins on Sunday, Aug. 3, by winning the West Zone tournament next week.

The Aledo team is scheduled to leave Monday for Florida, and is currently seeking donations to help defray travel and accommodation expenses.
