Jail Trustee Flees from Trash DetailFrom the Parker County Sheriff's Dept. Berry led the corrections officer on a foot chase across Fort Worth Highway and behind the Weatherford City Garage. Sheriff’s Deputies and Weatherford Police cordoned off an area south of the viaduct early Sunday morning before the man was sighted again by WPD Officers on the railroad track towards Interstate 20. A DPS helicopter was used in the search but immediate efforts to recapture the man were unsuccessful. Sheriff Larry Fowler said that a warrant for Escape had been issued for Berry and that he would be captured and charged with the additional offense which carries a punishment of up to 10 years in the Texas Department of Corrections. Berry, who was in jail on an assortment of misdemeanor charges, was awaiting transport to a State Jail Facility to begin serving a two year sentence for a Probation Violation stemming from a Burglary of a Building conviction. Sheriff’s Investigators and the Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service are involved in the ongoing investigation. Berry, 23 is described as 6’1, 170 lbs with light brown hair with patches of white, brown eyes and has tattoos on his right arm and right shoulder. Berry was last seen wearing an orange jail issue shirt and orange and white stripped jail issued pants.
