Ray was born August 5, 1933. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Ray was a member of VFW Post 2137 in Azle and was also a member of the Clown Unit of the Shriners. He was a general contractor for the past 43 years.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Banks in 1985; sister, Lou Ella Brewer; and brother, Gene Banks.

Survivors: Children, Landon Banks and wife, Nita of Fort Worth, Robert Banks and wife, Rhonda of Springtown and Rhonda Dyer and Marco Cardena of Lipan; grandsons, Randy Lindsey, John Kemp, Moses Kemp, Barry Dyer, Corey Banks, Chad Banks, Colton Banks, and Logan Banks; granddaughters, Lyndsi Rowell and Lauryn Banks; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Benny Banks, Dean Banks, and Jerry Banks; sisters, Joyce Slate and Nona Rick; and a host of other family and friends.
