Shirley Edwards

Shirley Ann Chesnut Edwards was born March 1, 1935, at Chesnut Mountain, daughter of the late Dwight and Pearl Jones Chesnut. She married Tom Edwards in Santo in 1951 and they began their lives together, which would last 60 years. Shirley loved to work in her orchard and garden and was an animal lover. She reared her five children and was active at Live Oak Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted. Service to her Lord was top priority, followed very closely by her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Margene Ricke.

Survivors: Husband, Tommy Edwards of Santo; children, Gary Edwards and wife, Elizabeth, of Silver City, N.M., Debbie Martin and husband, Donald Ray, of Weatherford, Doug Edwards and wife, Barbara, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Donna Hartman and husband, Roy, of Denver, Colo., and Karen Searcy and husband, Larry, of Abilene; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Woodard of Fort Worth; brother, Harold Chesnut and wife, Susie, of Santo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
