The Weatherford ISD Adult Education Program recently received the Outstanding Community Education Event Award at the Texas Community Education Association state convention held inKerrville.

The award signifies outstanding efforts at collaboration between local entities to enhance the learning of individuals in their community. In association with the Parker County AgriLife Extension Service, students in the adult education program attended workshops, including a 6 hour workshop entitled “Tools to Becoming a Successful Parent.”

This effort between the adult education program and the extension service expanded by the participation of adult education staff in the Better Learning for Texas Taskforce. The objective of the Better Living for Texas Program is to motivate individuals to adopt wholesome eating habits, incorporate healthy lifestyle behaviors, and enhance their personal lives.
