Willow Park files suit against coalition cities

The City of Willow Park filed suit against the cities of Aledo, Annetta, Annetta South, Hudson Oaks, and the Parker County Utility District Number 1 on Friday, September 7, 2007.
The lawsuit was filed in response to the purchase offer made for Deer Creek Water Works from the city of Willow Park during 2006.
Mark Zeppa, attorney for Willow Park, said the suit was filed because the cities and utility district came back with an offer that was not the original agreement and it was not presented on time.
“They came in and unilaterally changed it and it wasn’t in on time,” said Zeppa.
Zeppa said Willow Park is requesting an injunction to prevent the cities from participating in TCEQ.
The coalition of cities has just over 20 days to respond to the lawsuit.
Mayors from several of the cities have confirmed that the mayors will gather, with attorneys present, to discuss the matter in a closed meeting. A date for the meeting was not yet available.
Hudson Oaks mayor Pat Deen said, “We can’t comment until we have discussed it as a city and a council.”
