The Midway Shell station at the intersection of South Front Street and FM 1187 was robbed sometime during the night of March 30/31.

The Parker County Sheriff's Dept. received a call about 5:30 a.m. reporting that cigarettes were missing, the ATM had been cleaned out and some security equipment was missing.

The case is under investigation. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity during the night is urged to call the Parker County Crime Stoppers Hotline at 817-599-5555. Callers may remain anonymous, and rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for tips.

Robbed?

Hey Randy,

I know we're pretty much out in the country here in Parker County, so this really won't matter much, but unless a victim was present the Shell station was burglarized not "robbed". "Robbed" applies to incidents such as when a clerk is facing an individual with a gun. When someone sneaks into a place when no one is around and steals something that's a burglary. A news forum such as the Community News has the responsibility of setting a grammatical example, even out here in the country!

Thanks!
