Lady Roos Take 2-of-3 Non-District Games Over Spring Break

Weatherford's Lady Roos varsity softball team won 2-of-3 non-district contests over spring break. They faced Burkburnett, Nolan Catholic, and Abilene Wylie.

The Lady Roos lost a hard fought game to Burkburnett, 3-2, in the eighth inning. They had a come-from-behind victory against Nolan Catholic off a game-winning homerun by senior Jordan Wallace to win it, 10-8. The Lady Roos also defeated Abilene Wylie 14-0.

Standout offensively for the Lady Roos was junior Alison Gillard who had a total of three extra-base hits and contributed offensively to both Lady Roo wins.

The Lady Roos will continue district play tonight against Arlington Bowie in Arlington. Both Bowie and Weatherford are 4-0 in district. Game time is 5:30 p.m. for the varsity followed by the junior varsity matchup at 7:30 p.m.
