The Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes Unit (SCU) made several arrests in connection with an undercover narcotics investigation.
Parker County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Camp said Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, SCU members conducted the investigation, where Rene David Castillo, 28, of Fort Worth, attempted to sell investigators 14 grams of methamphetamine. A female suspect, also of Fort Worth, with three small children were located inside Castillo’s vehicle during the arranged purchase.
Castillo was arrested and taken to the Parker County Jail. Child Protective Services was contacted to conduct an investigation regarding the children.
Inside the vehicle, SCU investigators seized digital scales, numerous clear plastic baggies and two baggies containing 1.3, and 28.5 grams of methamphetamine.
Inside Castillo’s residence in Fort Worth, SCU investigators discovered additional methamphetamine (67.4 grams) located inside a safe along with a .9 mm handgun with a magazine and ammunition, additional clear plastic baggies, a large amount of U.S. currency and $250 believed to be counterfeit bills.
A third suspect, identified as Lucilla Ortega was arrested and charged with attempt to possess a controlled substance after attempting to purchase two ounces of methamphetamine that same day from undercover SCU investigators. Officers seized $3,600 in U.S. Currency from the suspect’s clothing and the suspect vehicle.
