Vassberg pitches Bearcats to 6-3 victory

Aledo senior pitcher Austin Vassberg allowed five hits en route to his second win of the season to lead the Bearcats to a 6-3 victory over co-host Trinity Friday night at the HEB Mid Cities Classic at Trinity High School.

The Bearcats (6-2) took advantage of four Trojan errors and needed just three hits - including a home run by Nils Smith and a triple by Hayden Hall - to seal the victory.

Aledo will conclude tournament play with a pair of games today (Saturday, March 6) at Trinity High School.

The Bearcats will face Arlington Lamar at 10 a.m. followed by a 3 p.m. contest against Paschal.
