Theatre Off the Square in Weatherford presents “‘Til Beth Do Us Part” weekends through Feb. 27.
‘Til Beth Do Us Part introduces Suzannah and Gibby Hayden, a dual-career couple married for 27 years whose hectic schedule has created chaos on the home front. Focusing on her career at Carmichael’s Chocolates is one of Suzannah’s top priorities, and multi-tasking between work and home becomes more and more difficult. Gibby offers little or no assistance around the house as he works overtime as meteorologist and doesn’t seem bothered by the clutter at home.
Coming to Suzannah’s rescue is Margo, a longtime friend who recommends Beth, a southern girl and personal assistant extraordinaire. As Beth gets Suzannah’s home organized, she begins to also organize Suzannah’s business and marriage. When Gibby voices his concern, he finds himself kicked out of his own home and staying with his friend Hank, who is also Margo’s ex-husband.
Gibby rallies the troops and enlists Margo and Hank to rescue Suzannah from the ever-encroaching Beth and present a united front at a business dinner party for the CEO of Carmichael’s Chocolates, Celia Carmichael. Their efforts to stop Beth come to a wildly funny climax with things going terribly awry. The playwrights have written this family friendly comedy for the enjoyment of those married, single, rethinking divorce or anyone being controlled by someone up to no good.
Cast for ‘Til Beth Do Us Part is Lana Robinson as Suzannah; Duncan Alexander as Gibby; Leslie Sebastian as Beth; Holly Kiehn as Margo; Robert Copeland as Hank and Jacquie King as Celia Carmichael. Stage manager is Debby Herbel and Light and Sound technician is Nik Braswell.
