Bearcat Football Team Gets National Honor...Presentation during halftime of Bearcat Basketball Game

WHAT:

Aledo High School will be presented with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy as part of the sixth annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions. Aledo finished No. 46 in the final rankings and is one of 50 schools being honored on this season’s tour. The presentation will be made at halftime of the boys’ varsity basketball game.

WHY:
Aledo (16-0) put the finishing touches on its first unbeaten season since the school opened its doors in 1948 with a 69-48 trouncing of LaMarque on Dec. 17, 2010 to win its third Texas 4A Division II state championship. It was the school’s second straight state title and third overall. Aledo, which now has won 29 consecutive games, is one of 50 schools being honored on the sixth annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard. MaxPreps ranks more than 15,000 varsity high school football teams.

IN ADDITION

The Aledo Athletic Booster Club will provide a free hot dog to the first 500 fans wearing an Aledo Spirit Shirt who show up before 5:45 in support for Aledo athletes.
