Aledo wins 18-10 in a defensive showcase.

The kickoff is underway...Aledo is on defense first

Jace Vincent has put incredible pressure on the quarterback...Aledo takes over from their own 5 yard line.

Matthew Bishop fumbles the ball on the opponent 25 yard-line for a turnover after a nice 23-yard run...Stephenville takes over.

Aledo forces another punt after key sack froms Rylan Riney and Gunner Johnson...Aledo takes over from their own 33 with 2:25 left in the 1st quarter.

Aledo punts the ball away with 51 seconds left...Gray has struggled so far with 2 yards on 2 carries.

Stephenville has the ball to open the 2nd quarter.

Aledo starts their drive from their own 29 yard-line...let's score!!

Aledo's drive stops at midfield with 8 minutes left to go in the half.

Aledo takes over from their own 35 with 5:30 left.

Stephenville calls a timeout with 2 minutes left...Aledo has a first down on Stephenville's 16 yard-line.

Gray recieves a 12-yard pass from Bishop. The extra point was blocked, however, and Aledo leads 6-0 with 45 seconds left to play in the half.

Stephenville hits a 37-yard field goal as time expires in the first half...Aledo leads 6-3.

Johnathan Gray: 12 carries 56 yards and 2 catches 18 yards and 1 TD.
Matthew Bishop: 5-6 passing for 54 yards and 1TD, 9 carries for 43 yds
Justin Brasheers: 1 catch for 27 yards.
Michael Mann: 1 catch for 4 yards.

In Aledo's first drive of the 2nd half, a Garrett Ellis punt was blocked and returned for a touchdown. They trail 10-6 with 10:20 left in the third quarter.

Aledo was stopped near mid-field on fourth down, Stephenville takes over with 7:22 left to play in the third.

Stephenville's pass on 4th down was caught out of bounds in the endzone. Aledo takes over from their own 29.

Aledo trails 10-6 as the third quarter closes. They are dangerously close to scoring, as they lay on the opponents 7 yard line. Michael Bishop had a key 3rd down pass to Todd Christian to keep the drive alive.

A 4th down pass from Michael Bishop to Micheal Hornsby scores from 13 yards out. The extra point was shanked off of the right goal post. Aledo leads 12-0.

Aledo forces a fumble at the opponent's 30 yard-line. They take over with 8 minutes left in the game.

A beautiful 4th down pass from Bishop to Mann scores from 22 yards out. The extra point was missed again (the third miss today), giving Aledo an 18-10 lead.

Rylan Riney intercepts a pass, and returns it to the 24 yard line. A personal foul penalty on Aledo puts the ball on their own 9. 5:13 left in the game with Aledo leading 18-10.

Matthew Bishop comes up with a huge 27 yard run on 4th down, Aledo has the ball still with 2 minutes left. Stephenville just used their last timeout, 3 and 10 Bearcats.

Aledo punts the ball for a touchback. Stephenville has the ball with 1:20 left.

That seals it with...Aledo wins 18-10!! Our collective hearts can now calm down.

Credit both defenses as Aledo holds on with a 18-10 victory over the Stephenville Yellowjackets tonight. The MVPs go to Gunner Johnson and Rylan Riney as they made plays all over the field tonight. Aledo will play the winner of Bastrop and Mesquite Poteet, who square off tommorow.
