The Aledo business landscape is shifting before our very eyes. Take a look around now; it won’t be the same in a few short months.
When Jack Bryant Flooring closed its Jearl Street doors in February, it started a proverbial Aledo business shuffle. Here's what we know.
Agape Coffee Haus Bookstore bought the building and will be subleasing to a number of businesses, including an advertising agency and a tae kwon do studio.
Jorge’s Mexican Restaurant will move across the street into Agape’s current location at 100 South Front Street. A new restaurant, Aledo Café, owned and operated by Jorge Pinto of Jorge’s, will open at Jorge’s current location at 205 North Front.
That’s not all. A third business is expected to move and sublease space at Agape’s future location, but since details have not yet been finalized, they were hesitant to release information.
Lorrie Clifton, Agape’s owner, jumped at the chance to own Jack Bryant's building.
“(The new location) is off the beaten path a little bit. We’ve had a great location, but now we’ve gotten bigger and I think our customers will follow us,” she said. “It was a necessity.”
Clifton said Agape plans to expand its services, including its deli hours and menu. In addition, there will also be a drive-through window.
Clifton said she hopes to open the new location by April 2.
Pinto could not be reached for comment to talk about the changes at his restaurants.
