The state-ranked No. 10 Aledo Ladycats broke a 1-1 tie in games with consecutive victories to down Boswell, 25-9, 24-26, 25-12, 25-20, in District 5-4A volleyball action Friday night at the Aledo High School gym.
The win raises the first-place Ladycats overall mark to 29-8, and a sparkling 11-0 in district play. The victory was also the 398th career win for head coach Kathy Goings.
Senior outside hitter Lindsey Baird recorded her personal best and a match-high 19 kills - along with four aces - and sophomore setter Mallory Powell dished out a match-high 41 assists.
The Ladycats will continue district play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Keller Timber Creek. A win would give the Ladycats - who have a three-match lead over Springtown and Birdville - the outright district championship.
