A CD release party for Aledo’s DeAnn Spence is planned Friday, April 25 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Parson’s Table in Aledo, 200 S. FM 1187.
This is the first solo album for the 1984 Aledo graduate, although she has recorded two previous CDs with the bluegrass band FullHouse.
They can be seen every fourth Sunday at the Parker County Cowboy Church.
DeAnn and Rick Spence reside in Aledo. They met in 1986, but their musical careers did not become a big part of their lives until about 2008.
“It’s About the Journey” features songs written by DeAnn and Rick, along with one penned by FullHouse guitarist Jared Kennedy, as well as some familiar gospel and country standards – all with a bluegrass flavor.
When they’re not playing, recording or writing, DeAnn is a transition specialist at Eastern Hills High School in Fort Wirth, and Rick is a salesman for wholesale retirement plans in a six-state area. He is also a former professional calf roper, putting aside that career about three years ago.
