As many cancer patients will tell you, their daily battle with cancer is often hard and unpredictable. What we often admire most in these brave individuals is the courage with which they face each new day’s challenges, and must shift their priorities to accommodate each day’s opportunities and necessities.
While we, our sponsors, our volunteers, and our celebrities have looked forward to the Celebrity Cutting event with much love and labor, we must also make sure our priorities accommodate the best interests of our community. As we consider our mission to sustain and enhance the lives of cancer patients, we must conclude that no single event is worth putting anyone’s health or safety in jeopardy.
While the event is one important evidence of the outpouring of love and generosity that comes from the heart of our supporters, we are grateful that our supporters also understand the need to look out foremost for everyone’s well-being.
The Celebrity Cutting event for 2013 has been cancelled. Because so many people and animals from so many walks of life are involved, and the venue is unique and cannot be duplicated, and celebrities’ calendars are filled months in advance, we are unable to reschedule the event. We must instead look ahead to 2014, when the Celebrity Cutting event will bravely return for our 20th Anniversary.
Thanks to the contributions of everyone who has supported this year’s event, the work of the Careity Foundation in patients’ lives will continue. We are so grateful for each of our amazing supporters.
We look forward to seeing all of you in 2014 at the Careity Celebrity Cutting!
