Memorial Day Warbird Rides
May 25 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm$5 – $650
The Vintage Flying Museum will offer Memorial Day Warbird Rides from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at the museum: 505 N.W. 38th St., Hangar 33 South, Fort Worth (Meacham International Airport).
Aircraft available for flights include the Greatest Generation Aircraft C-47, “Southern Cross” plus a Commemorative Air Force A-26 Invader, PT-19 Cornell, and a T-34 Mentor.
Cockpit tours will be available on additional aircraft including the A-26K “Special Kay.” This aircraft was the award-winning bomber at the famous Oshkosh Air Show; EAA AirVenture 2018.
Admission is $10 for adults, and $8 for senior citizens, military and teens. Children age 6-12 are $5 and under 6 are free. Aircraft rides range from $99 to $650, depending on the aircraft type and in some cases, which seat in the plane you choose. Note: There are age restrictions on flights in some aircraft.
The Vintage Flying Museum is a unique “working” museum. Most of the aircraft in the main hangar fly on a regular basis and therefore require periodic maintenance. When guests come to visit they are usually treated to a “behind the scenes” experience and are able to see what it takes to “Keep em’ Flying.” They see aircraft with panels and cowlings removed, maintenance engine runs and even the aircraft taking off and landing. A few aircraft in long-term restoration can also be seen by guests. Whether you come out to ride in a historic warbird or just tour the museum and watch these rare aircraft fly, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
