Christmas Time in Aledo
December 3, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
The City of Aledo staff is preparing for the city’s biggest Christmas Tyme event yet Dec. 3 – and this year, they’ve added an actual ice skating rink.
“We’re so excited to have a new featured activity,” said City Secretary Deanna McMullen. “We think it’s going to be a big hit.”
The free rink will provide skates to any adults or children who want to skate.
This year, the arts and crafts fair, which has traditionally been held in the Aledo Community Center, will move to the gymnasium at The Church at the Crossing, more than doubling the amount of space for vendors. The fair runs 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
“We went from 23 to 50,” said McMullen. “There will also be a number of outdoor vendors.”
Downtown businesses are expected to keep special hours for the event, and many will offer specials for shoppers and treats for revelers.
The Aledo Community Center will still feature live reindeer and the lighting of the city’s Christmas Tree, which will take place at 6 p.m., after an hour of live entertainment. Santa is expected to make his arrival immediately after the tree lighting.
The East Parker County Library will once again host letter writing for Santa, and the popular carriage ride feature will return. Casa de Crazy will also roll out an inflatable photo booth.
All activities are free.
