Candlelight Tour of Homes

December 10, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 7:00 pm

$15

The Parker County Heritage Society will present its 35th home tour from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

“The venues on this year’s tour represent a wide variety of styles and vintages,” said Abby Hamessley chair of this year’s Candlelight Tour.  “We have beautiful Victorians, a historic schoolhouse as well as a tiny house on tour this year,” she continued. “There’s truly something for everyone.”

Jamie Bodiford Brinkley, President of the Heritage Society, said, “Our committee has put together a great tour this year. I can’t wait to hear from each of the homeowners about the rich history of their home. And all of the tour proceeds benefit historic preservation projects around our area. If you’ve driven by our beautiful historic homes, this is your opportunity to come inside and see the beauty that is within each of them. It’s a really special treat that shouldn’t be missed.”

Altfather/Belanger Home – 410 West Spring: The Altfather home was originally built as a dog-run style home with an open air center and only four rooms in 1892. Renovated and expanded over time, the house was restored in 2001 including the replication of original wallpaper. It was built by Jasper Haney, but is more well known as the family home of H.E. Altfather.
